Multicultural Youth Day – 30 June 2015
3,000-3,500 people attended Inala PCYC (Police-Citizens Youth Club) for this event, presented with the Multicultural Community Network. RIHG had a stall there. A number of multicultural food stalls worked to raise funds for the Nepal Disaster.
There were demonstrations by Police and Fire Brigade, Hip-Hop and Bollywood dancers, with special guests from Ashton’s Circus and Brisbane Roar. There were information stalls, sporting events and free rides and activities such as a Rock wall, Quad bikes, Jumping castles, Camel rides and an Animal Farm.
Though the Inala PCYC Committee and Activities were operating from 1970, the building was opened in 1975 – so this year’s event was also a celebration of 40 years at Skylark Street.
This event grows every year and is now a major event in the PCYC calendar.
* Inala is one of 54 Police-Citizens Youth Clubs across the State.
